Brazil manager Tite has hinted that Pep Guardiola is keen to sign Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk after the Catalan coach got in touch to enquire about the midfielder.
Fred earned big praise from the Manchester City boss earlier this season following his displays in the Ukrainian club's Champions League double-header with the Citizens.
The 25-year-old admitted to being flattered by the positive words, and Tite has now offered a further suggestion that a transfer could go through at the end of the campaign.
"Fred? He's played a lot [for Shakhtar]," he told UOL. "He is good. In an exchange of cards, Guardiola asked me about him."
Brazil international Fred last represented his country in 2015, but he was an unused squad member for a couple of World Cup qualifiers in November.
