West Ham United have reportedly set their sights on a surprise summer swoop for Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure.
There have been several reports that Toure's place as a key figure for City could be over next season with Pep Guardiola, the manager who let him leave Barcelona, to take over at the Etihad Stadium.
According to The Express, Man City are not willing to extend Toure's current contract, which expires at the end of next season, and that has alerted West Ham to his possible availability.
The paper goes on to say that Toure would prefer to stay in England if he were to leave City, but any move would likely see the Ivorian have to take a pay cut on his current £220,000-a-week wages.
West Ham are battling City to finish in the top four, with only a point currently separating the duo in the race for a Champions League place.
