Italy striker Mario Balotelli has insisted that his performance for Italy against Denmark proves that he is capable of producing a tireless work ethic to help his team to succeed.
Balotelli turned in an impressive display for the Azzurri to help them overcome Denmark 3-1 despite being reduced to 10 men early in the second half.
The Manchester City striker scored late on to put the result beyond doubt, drawing praise from Italy coach Cesare Prandelli for his selfless style.
Balotelli told reporters that he feels ready to play at a consistent level for club and country during the course of this season.
He revealed: "Both with Italy and City, I have always put the effort in and am improving in terms of my work rate.
"I have had this humility for a while and can continue to have it without problems.
"I hoped to win this match. Denmark scored just before the break and things got rather complicated, but it was good to score tonight."
The 22-year-old has endured a stop-start early campaign for City thanks to a series of niggling injuries and a bout of conjunctivitis.
