How Manchester United could line up against Paris Saint-Germain

Ahead of Manchester United's Champions League last-16 trip to Paris Saint-Germain, Sports Mole looks at how the Red Devils could line up.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer takes his depleted Manchester United squad to the Parc des Princes on Wednesday evening, aiming to pull off a big comeback following the 2-0 loss in last month's Champions League last-16 first leg.

United suffered their one and so far only defeat under interim boss Solskjaer in that home reverse, leaving them with a huge mountain to climb when the sides face off again in midweek.

The Red Devils, who managed just one Marcus Rashford attempt on target in the opening 90 minutes, make the trip to the French capital without as many as 10-first team stars.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how United could line up in midweek.

Out: Paul Pogba (suspended), Antonio Valencia (calf), Nemanja Matic (muscle), Juan Mata (hamstring), Jesse Lingard (hamstring), Ander Herrera (hamstring), Alexis Sanchez (knee)
Doubtful: Matteo Darmian (knock), Anthony Martial (groin), Phil Jones (illness)

Pogba's red card toward the end of the first leg leaves United without arguably their key man and may force Solskjaer to turn to underperforming midfielder Fred, as Matic and Herrera are also confirmed absentees.

Scott McTominay and Andreas Pereira have profited from the mounting injury problems after being given a run of games, with the latter producing one of his best displays yet in a United shirt thanks to his goal and assist in the second half against Southampton at the weekend.

With Sanchez pulling up against the Saints, joining Martial, Lingard and Mata on the sidelines, Solskjaer is expected to use Diogo Dalot in a more advanced position against PSG, like he did in the win over Crystal Palace last week.

Rashford has at least recovered from his own injury problem, but he has scored only one goal in his last nine Champions League games, six of those being starts, with that coming in United's last away match against Valencia in December.
