Tom Cleverley hopeful of win over Bayer Leverkusen

Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley says that the club are confident of beating Bayer Leverkusen in their Champions League clash this week.

Tom Cleverley has said that Manchester United want to bounce back from the disappointment of dropping points against Cardiff City by beating Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Red Devils conceded a last-minute equaliser as they were held to a 2-2 draw at the Cardiff City Stadium.

"It would have been a massive three points had we been able to hold on, especially because of the teams around us playing one another," he told MUTV.

"Everyone in the dressing room is very disappointed - the result means as much to the players as it does the fans. It definitely feels like two points dropped, but all credit to Cardiff, they played well and we weren't at our best.

"We've got a really important game coming up on Wednesday and we know we need to get our heads up and make sure that we qualify. It's good we've got that game because you want to try and get a rhythm going and bounce back from a disappointing result. It was a pity that after the Arsenal game we had to wait two weeks to play again so Wednesday can't come quick enough for us."

United are top of Champions League Group A with eight points.
