Patrice Evra has admitted that it would be "perfect" for Manchester United if Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo was swept up by the emotion of coming up against his former team for the first time tomorrow night.
Portuguese international Ronaldo left Old Trafford for Madrid in 2009 having won everything on offer in club football during his six-year stint in England.
Ronaldo still has a host of close connections with United, and French full-back Evra has revealed his wish that the 28-year-old's performance is hampered by the enormity of the occasion.
"We have already been texting each other. I hope he will get a great ovation from our fans because what he did for United was unbelievable. I miss him too," Evra told Inside United.
"For me, he is the best player in the world. He will be a tough opponent but we have to make sure we are friends out of the pitch, and enemies on it!
"It will be emotional for Ronny because he loves Manchester United. I hope the emotion will get to him. That will be perfect for us."
Ronaldo made 292 appearances for the Red Devils.
