Rio Ferdinand has avoided any UEFA disciplinary action for the sarcastic applause aimed at Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir.
Ferdinand went to the referee at the end of Manchester United's 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, unhappy with Cakir's decision to send off Nani.
"From the report we have received from the referee we will not take any action," BBC Sport quotes a UEFA spokesperson as saying.
After the Nani red card, Real scored twice through Luka Modric and Cristiano Ronaldo to overturn United's 1-0 lead.
