Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has expressed his delight at the rejuvenated form of Wayne Rooney.
The Scot declared that the England striker is back to his best after watching him bag a brace during his team's 4-2 victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
"I thought Wayne was fantastic [on Tuesday]. He's got his energy back, his determination, his purpose to attack," he told MUTV.
"Being a director, I'm delighted to see that. He's back to what we always remember."
Rooney was linked with a move to Chelsea over the summer, but Ferguson's successor David Moyes has fought to keep him at Old Trafford.
