Phil Jones has admitted that it is "hugely important" Manchester United return to the Champions League as soon as possible.
The Red Devils crashed out at the quarter-final stage last night following a 4-2 aggregate defeat against Bayern Munich.
United are currently seven points adrift of a top-four finish in the Premier League, meaning that they could miss out on qualifying for the competition for the first time in 19 years next season.
"It's hugely important we get back in it as soon as possible," Jones is quoted as saying by the Daily Star following the game at the Allianz Arena. "Manchester United need to be in the Champions League.
"Nights like these do not come around too often. They are the ones you look back on and think - 'what a time that was'. You want to play against the best and you want to test yourself against the best."
United return to league action a week on Sunday when they take on Everton at Goodison Park.
