Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly selected Shinji Kagawa, Phil Jones and Michael Carrick as part of a three-man midfield against Real Madrid this evening.
The Premier League leaders face Madrid in the Spanish capital on Wednesday in the first leg of their last-16 clash in the Champions League.
It was understood that Tom Cleverley would form the basis of United's midfield, but according to reports on Twitter, the Manchester-born England international will start on the bench.
"Believe Kagawa starts for United tonight. Jones and Carrick in heart of midfield," tweeted Oliver Holt of The Mirror.
Cristiano Ronaldo will face his former club for the first time this evening as he attempts to fire the Spanish outfit into the next round.
