Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has revealed that he enjoyed the experience of returning to Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Swede has struggled for Premier League football this season since arriving at Old Trafford, but has started all three of United's Group A matches in the Champions League.
Lindelof was again in the XI for Wednesday's trip to Benfica, and an impressive defensive performance saw the Red Devils grind out a 1-0 victory over the Portuguese giants.
"It was nice to come back here and get the win. I came here when I was 17 and I grew up as a person playing here, so this will always be a special place. We had total control of the game; they had a few chances in the first half but apart from that we were in control," Lindelof told MUTV.
United have now collected nine points from their three group matches this season, and will look to wrap up qualification when they welcome Benfica to Old Trafford at the end of the month.
