Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has said that he is "very proud" to have scored his 200th goal for the club.
The England international was on target twice for the Red Devils in their 4-2 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League at Old Trafford.
"I am very proud to get my 200th Manchester United goal," BBC Sport quotes him as saying. "I am delighted to be back playing. It is a good result, as the first game in the Champions League is so important.
"I am concentrating on my football, I have got my head down and worked hard. I am delighted with the way I have come back. The fans have been brilliant. It is great the reception I get here.
"Hopefully I can repay them with those type of performances. It is a big learning curve for the manager. Tonight was all about getting the win. It has gone quickly my time here. I am really pleased to score 200 goals for a club like Manchester United, it is a great honour."
United are currently at the top of Group A, level on three points with Shakhtar Donetsk.
