Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has revealed that Michael Carrick will miss the club's Champions League game against Wolfsburg on Wednesday.
The England midfielder was one of five senior players that missed a training session on Tuesday morning and Van Gaal does not expect to have Carrick available for the clash at Old Trafford.
Ander Herrera and Antonio Valencia, however, who also missed training, have a chance of making the European fixture, according to Van Gaal.
"I think that Carrick shall not play tomorrow. The other two (Herrera and Valencia) we have to wait and see. They have minor injuries and I don't want to take any risks," Van Gaal told reporters.
Man United were beaten 2-1 by PSV in their first Group B match earlier this month.
