Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted that winning the Europa League with Manchester United would be a "significant achievement".
The Red Devils play Ajax on Thursday night and it will be the first time since 1995 that the Old Trafford club have competed in Europe outside of the Champions League.
Ferguson is focusing on the positives of a Europa League campaign. If his side win the tournament, they will become just the third team, after Juventus, Bayern Munich and Ajax, to win the all three of UEFA's major club trophies.
"It would be a significant achievement", said Ferguson. "Winning any European trophy is significant.
"Irrespective of those who have won the three trophies before it is important for us, with our own history, to win tournaments all the time."
United won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1991 and the European Cup in 1968, 1999 and 2008.
