David Wagner vows to 'play with freedom' against Manchester United

David Wagner insists that "anything is possible" as his Huddersfield Town side prepare to take on Manchester United for a place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner has said that he intends to send his players out with the message of playing their normal game when taking on Manchester United.

The Terriers welcome the Red Devils to the John Smith's Stadium for a second time this season, four months after picking up a memorable 2-1 win in the Premier League.

Saturday evening's latest showdown comes in the FA Cup, however, and Huddersfield are one big performance away from reaching the last eight for the first time in 46 years.

Speaking to reporters on the eve of the fifth-round tie in West Yorkshire, Wagner insisted that anything can happen when United make their latest visit.

"It is the cup so we can play this game with freedom against one of the biggest names in world football at home," he said. "What is better than this? If there was one game where we can play totally with freedom, then it is this one.

"We have shown that we can cause them some problems, at least defensively if we find our set-up to give them no space. We have to be at our best in terms of focus and concentration. We can only win on Saturday.

"Usually if United plays Huddersfield three times, they will not make a mistake twice, but we all know that in football, anything is possible. If there is a small chance, we will be there to try to take it."

Huddersfield have won just one of their last 13 games in all competitions against United.
