Cristiano Ronaldo could be back in the Manchester United squad for Sunday's Premier League clash with Fulham.
The 37-year-old was missing against Aston Villa in the EFL Cup on Thursday evening due to illness, but Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag said ahead of the match that the forward has a chance of returning for the team's final fixture before the campaign breaks for the World Cup.
Ronaldo has found it difficult to show his best form for Man United during the 2022-23 campaign, only scoring three goals and registering two assists in 16 appearances in all competitions.
As expected, the forward has been named in the Portugal squad for the World Cup, and he will be looking to sign off with a positive performance if he is included at Craven Cottage.

The Portuguese boasts a record of nine wins, two draws and two defeats against the Cottagers, scoring seven times and registering three assists in the process.
In the Premier League, Ronaldo has a record of eight wins, two draws and two defeats in 12 matches against the West London club, scoring seven goals and registering two assists.
Meanwhile, the forward has faced Fulham once in the FA Cup, providing an assist in a 2-1 victory against the capital side during the quarter-finals of the 2003-04 competition.
Ronaldo's first ever goal against Fulham came at Old Trafford in the Premier League in 2005, finding the back of the net in a 1-0 victory for Sir Alex Ferguson's side.
The forward also scored a brace in a home victory for the Red Devils during the 2005-06 campaign, before netting home and away against the Cottagers in 2006-07.
Ronaldo managed another brace against the capital outfit in a 2-0 Man United win in the first half of the 2007-08 campaign, but he failed to register against them in either game during the 2008-09 season.
Interestingly, the striker lost his first ever game against Fulham - a 3-1 defeat for Man United in October 2003 - and his last, which was a 2-0 reverse at Craven Cottage in 2009.
