How Manchester Utd could line up against Arsenal

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester United could line up for Monday's Premier League clash with Arsenal at Old Trafford.

Manchester United take on Arsenal on Monday night knowing that a win would be the ideal tonic following their drab 2-0 defeat at West Ham United in their last Premier League contest.

Their familiar visiting foes have not won in the league at Old Trafford since 2006, but United have only one win in five Premier League matches as the quality of their performances has again come under scrutiny.

Following the narrow win on penalties over Rochdale in the EFL Cup in midweek, United will be targeting a return to form in the league.

Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will hope his players emerge unscathed, with trips to AZ Alkmaar and Newcastle United to follow on Thursday and Sunday.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how United could line up as they look to continue their fine run against these opponents at home.

Out: Timothy Fosu-Mensah (knee), Eric Bailly (knee), Diogo Dalot (fitness), Angel Gomes (fitness), Phil Jones (groin)
Doubtful: Paul Pogba (ankle), Anthony Martial (thigh), Marcus Rashford (groin)

While Solskjaer has stopped short of completely ruling out attacking pair Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, he conceded the duo are highly unlikely to be ready for Monday, and suggested he would spend the weekend considering whether to start teenager Mason Greenwood.

The 17-year-old, who was tipped by many as one to watch before the start of the season, scored his first senior goal with the Europa League winner against Astana, although tonsillitis kept him out of the defeat to West Ham before he netted again with the second-half opener against Rochdale.

Paul Pogba suffered swelling to his persistent ankle problem against Rochdale but will surely start should he seem fit enough.

Solskjaer has not comprehensively detailed the injuries Diogo Dalot, Angel Gomes and Phil Jones are ruled out by, but implied they could be ready for the subsequent matches United face over the remainder of the week.
