Project Restart: Bournemouth's remaining 2019-20 Premier League fixtures

Ahead of the Premier League restart next week, Sports Mole looks at the remaining fixtures facing Bournemouth.

At times this season, Eddie Howe may have felt fortunate to still be in the Bournemouth dugout with just four Premier League wins being recorded since September 28.

Nevertheless, the Cherries head into the resumption only sitting in the relegation zone on goal difference and with a home game against Crystal Palace ahead of them.

The magnitude of that fixture on June 20 means that the pressure will be on the South-Coast outfit from the off, something which may prove to be a blessing in disguise ahead of the games which remain later in the schedule.

In the middle of visits to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester United comes a home clash with Newcastle United, another game which Howe will feel that maximum points need to be recorded if they are to survive in the top flight.

Although they are provided with back-to-back contests at the Vitality Stadium early in July, European-chasing Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City provide the opposition.

Things get no easier for Howe and his players with a visit to Manchester City to come after that double-header, and there will naturally be hope that Pep Guardiola's team have nothing to play for with three games left.

Bournemouth's last home clash of the season is the derby showdown with Southampton, a team who may still be pulled back into the relegation battle if results do not go their way over the next six weeks.

The long journey North to Everton represents Bournemouth's final outing of the campaign, one which may prove crucial in their battle to avoid a return to the Championship.
