Football fans face an uncertain wait over when their clubs will return to action during the coronavirus pandemic, but which classic matches could you rewatch at home?

With the powers-that-be at the Football Association and Premier League having finally acted when it comes to suspending all fixtures for the foreseeable future due to the coronavirus outbreak, football supporters are set to be left in short supply when it comes to watching matches.

Although a date of April 4 has been set for action to recommence, it would not come as a surprise to anyone if the proposed resumption was pushed back significantly further, leaving fans to find other means of satisfying their desire to see two teams go toe-toe.

While the relevant television channels may act accordingly when it comes to showing games from years gone by, fans have other ways in which they can relive some of the all-time classic fixtures which have taken over the last two decades.

With that in mind, Sports Mole has put together a list of 10 encounters which you may want to view again over the coming days and weeks.

Liverpool 3-3 AC Milan (Liverpool won 3-2 on penalties)

With Liverpool fans left wondering whether they will be able to celebrate a well-earned Premier League title triumph later this year, where better to start than using the frustration as an excuse to watch the 2005 Champions League final? While Sky Sports may show the Istanbul showdown on their dedicated channels in the very near future, you can take to Youtube to relive one of the greatest footballing comebacks of all time.

England 2-2 Greece

Once upon a time, England had to fight hard to qualify for major tournaments. Back in 2001, it appeared that the Three Lions would require a two-legged playoff to get through to the 2002 World Cup as they struggled against Greece. That was until David Beckham stepped up and, you know, did the rest. It was an iconic moment in the history of English football, and is available to watch again on Youtube.

Bayern Munich 1-1 Chelsea (Chelsea won 4-3 on penalties)

After the disaster against Manchester United in 2008, Chelsea fans would have felt that lightning was about to strike twice when being left with a penalty shootout against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in order to win the 2012 Champions League final. However, Petr Cech and Didier Drogba - both on more than one occasion - came to the rescue for the Blues to earn a dramatic triumph.

Barcelona 6-1 Paris Saint-Germain

When Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie in 2017, it was considered a foregone conclusion that the French side would move through to the last 16. However, that was before Lionel Messi and co conspired to produce one of the all-time comebacks in any sport, prevailing 6-1 at Camp Nou thanks to three goals in the closing stages. As it stands, Youtube is your best bet to watch this contest.

Liverpool 4-0 Barcelona

Liverpool may have gone out of the Champions League earlier this week, but there was a different feeling at Anfield as recently as May when the Merseyside giants overturned a 3-0 first-leg deficit to reach the final in Madrid, which they ultimately won. Georginio Wijnaldum and Divock Origi were the heroes on the night, but you can access BT Sport's Youtube channels or wait for the broadcaster to show the match in the coming weeks if you wish to relive that famous night.

Manchester United 3-3 Chelsea

Manchester United and Chelsea have been involved in some classic battles over the years, but the 3-3 draw at Old Trafford takes some beating. It also marked Claudio Ranieri's first-ever game in English football, one which featured some memorable strikes from players who have gone on to become Premier League legends. That game is currently available to view on Sky Demand.

Barcelona 2-2 Chelsea

While we have already noted Chelsea's Champions League success of 2012, they had to come through a quite remarkable contest with Barcelona at Camp Nou weeks earlier. It included goals, dismissals and a comeback completed by a rare Chelsea goal from Fernando Torres. Extended highlights of that match can be found on Youtube.

Liverpool 5-4 Alaves

Given the circumstances, we feel obliged to provide Liverpool fans with some fond memories from years gone by, and this is another. After not conceding a goal in two-legged ties with Porto or Barcelona, Liverpool were expected to make light work of Spanish minnows Alaves. However, the two teams played out arguably the greatest European final in years, one which featured nine goals. The thriller is available in full on Youtube.

Manchester City 4-1 Manchester United

Manchester City may have lost three times to their fierce rivals this season but back in 2013, they wanted to make a statement after winning the league title just months earlier. Roberto Mancini's team did not disappoint, with the bulk of the goals being netted either side of half time. Sky Demand is the place to go to catch up with that showdown at the Etihad Stadium.

Liverpool 3-1 Manchester United

You should go to the same place if you wish to relive Liverpool's victory over United in 2001. The game is remembered for John Arne Riise's quite ridiculous free kick, but the match itself was enjoyable from first minute to last.
