Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Chelsea.

Manchester United will be looking to make it back-to-back wins under caretaker manager Michael Carrick when they head to Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Carrick led the Red Devils to a 2-0 victory over Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday, which saw the 20-time English champions book their spot in the knockout round of the competition.

Man United have lost five of their last seven Premier League games, though, which has seen them drop down into eighth position in the table, six points off the top four.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the team's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's trip to table-topping Chelsea.

Mason Greenwood

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: November 28 (vs. Chelsea)

Mason Greenwood was ruled out of Saturday's clash with Watford and Tuesday's game with Villarreal after testing positive for coronavirus, but the attacker could potentially return here depending on when he went into self-isolation.

Paul Pogba

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Paul Pogba sustained a thigh injury during the recent international break, and it is unlikely that the French midfielder will be able to return until 2022.

Raphael Varane

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: December 5 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Raphael Varane remains on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, but the France international has a chance of recovering from the issue in time for the clash with Crystal Palace on December 5.

Luke Shaw

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Concussion
Possible return date: November 28 (vs. Chelsea)

Shaw needed to be withdrawn through concussion during the loss to Manchester City before the international break; he featured against Watford on Saturday but had to leave the field in the second half due to another suspected concussion, and after missing out against Villarreal, he remains a major doubt here.

Edinson Cavani

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Tendon
Possible return date: November 28 (vs. Chelsea)

Edinson Cavani missed out on Uruguay's recent fixtures due to a tendon injury, while he has not featured in Man United's last three matches, meaning that he remains a major doubt for this game.

Fred

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: November 28 (vs. Chelsea)

Carrick said during Friday's press conference that Brazilian midfielder Fred is a doubt for the clash with Chelsea due to a twisted ankle.

MAN UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

Harry Maguire

Status: Out
Possible return date: December 2 (vs. Arsenal)

Harry Maguire was sent off against Watford last weekend after picking up two yellow cards, and the club captain will serve a one-game Premier League suspension in this match.
