Edinson Cavani will not be involved in Manchester United's Europa League clash with AC Milan on Thursday night despite being named in the initial travelling squad.
The 34-year-old has recently been struggling with a muscular problem but trained ahead of the clash with Milan and was named in the squad for the last-16 second leg in Italy.
However, Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that the Uruguay international suffered a reaction in the training session ahead of the trip and will therefore not be involved in the European clash.
"We are happy to have Donny [van de Beek] back, Paul [Pogba] and David [de Gea]," Solskjaer told MUTV. "Big players. Unfortunately, it looks like Edinson has got a bit of a reaction to training today and didn't feel ready to travel."
Cavani has missed all three of Man United's Europa League matches this season, while he has played in just one of their last five Premier League games due to injury.
A recent report claimed that the 20-time English champions were becoming frustrated by the Uruguay international's ongoing fitness problems.
The striker has scored seven times in 25 appearances for Solskjaer's side this term. body check tags ::
