Head coach Thomas Tuchel has revealed that Reece James and Antonio Rudiger are winning their battle to be fit for Thursday's Premier League fixture at Manchester United.
Both players were absent from the win over West Ham United at the weekend, the suggestion being that James had a minor hamstring injury and Rudiger was carrying a groin and hamstring issue.
However, the key duo have since returned to training, and Tuchel has hinted that they could be involved for the top-flight encounter at Old Trafford.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference, the German said: "Toni was in training yesterday, the same for Reece James. So we have another training coming and hopefully they can do the full training and give us the green light.
"The same for Andreas [Christensen], he will need another examination because he felt sick and will come back to training ground today."
Chelsea head into the match with the opportunity to establish a 10-point advantage in the race for a top-four position in the standings. body check tags ::
