Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is a doubt for Saturday's Premier League clash with Brentford.
With the international break completed, Erik ten Hag's side will resume their Premier League campaign with a trip to the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday evening.
United will still be harbouring hopes of qualifying for next season's Champions League, especially if the Premier League are awarded an extra qualification spot.
The sixth-placed side are currently sitting six points adrift of Tottenham Hotspur in fifth spot and nine points away from Aston Villa in fourth position.
With Man United looking to close the gap to the teams above them, they know that they can ill-afford any slips up against Thomas Frank's side.
However, there is a risk that they may go into the Premier League clash without the services of Mainoo, who has been struggling with illness this week.
The 18-year-old missed Thursday's training session after feeling unwell before he reported to Man United's Carrington base on Friday.
However, he still remains a doubt for Saturday's trip to West London, with Ten Hag set to make a late decision on his involvement.
When asked about Mainoo's availability on Friday, Ten Hag told reporters: "I don't know, we hope. Today he is here, not fully recovered but we still have many hours before tomorrow with kick off at 8pm."
Man United's breakout star
The Red Devils will be desperate for Mainoo to be involved, with the youngster now regarded as an important member of Ten Hag's squad.
Mainoo has made 20 competitive appearances since November to establish himself as a regular fixture in the first-team setup.
The teenager scored his first Premier League goal in February, netting a dramatic stoppage-time winner in the 4-3 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Mainoo's impressive performances earned him a call-up to Gareth Southgate's England squad for recent friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.
The youngster made his debut as a substitute against the five-time World Cup winners, before he started the 2-2 draw against Domenico Tedesco's side.
Ten Hag is confident that Mainoo will keep his feet on the ground despite enjoying a breakthrough campaign at Old Trafford. body check tags ::
