Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has said that Donny van de Beek, Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are all in contention for Thursday's Europa League clash with Sheriff Tiraspol.

The Red Devils will be bidding to record their fourth win in Group E, with the team currently sitting second in the section, three points behind Real Sociedad.

Cristiano Ronaldo will be back in the squad, with the Portugal international returning after being left out against Chelsea on Saturday as punishment for refusing to enter the field as a late substitute against Tottenham Hotspur last week.

Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial, Brandon Williams and Axel Tuanzebe are definitely out of the contest, but the 20-time English champions could have a triple injury boost for the European affair.

Ten Hag, speaking during his press conference on Thursday, confirmed that Van de Beek, Maguire and Wan-Bissaka were back in training and in with a chance of featuring on Thursday night.

"They are all back in training," Ten Hag told reporters. "Donny, Harry and Aaron are all in training for preparation for tomorrow's game. We will assess after training. Together with the medical [staff], I will take the decision."

Van de Beek has only made three appearances for the Red Devils this season, totalling just 19 minutes, and he has been on the sidelines since the start of September with a muscular problem.

The 25-year-old, who played under Ten Hag at Ajax, has struggled to show his best form since arriving at Man United, and he finished the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Everton.

Maguire, meanwhile, lost his spot in the starting XI after struggling in the team's opening two games of the campaign against Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford.

The 29-year-old has only made five appearances for the Red Devils this term, although he has been unavailable for selection since suffering a hamstring injury while on international duty with England.

Wan-Bissaka is also back in training, with the Englishman bidding to make just his second appearance of the season.

The former Crystal Palace youngster was strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford over the summer, but the transfer window closed with him still at the club.

Diogo Dalot is now firmly Man United's first-choice right-back, with Wan-Bissaka only playing four minutes of football this term, which came against Liverpool in the league on August 22.

The 24-year-old has been out with an unknown injury since the start of September, but he could now be in line to make his 128th Man United appearance in Thursday's European affair. body check tags ::
