Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has revealed that Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford are all in contention to face Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Both McTominay and Fernandes were absent against Crystal Palace on Monday, but the pair were thought to be close to featuring at Selhurst Park, having only been suffering with minor issues.
Rashford, meanwhile, was back in training on Thursday after recovering from the problem which has seen him miss his side's last three league games with Sheffield United, Burnley and Palace.
Ten Hag has confirmed that the trio could be in the squad against Arsenal, but Mason Mount has picked up another injury and will not be involved against the Gunners.
Lisandro Martinez also returned to training on Thursday after recovering from a calf problem, but the Argentina international will not face Mikel Arteta's side on Sunday.
McTominay, Rashford, Fernandes could all return vs. Arsenal
"I hope I have players [back and available], yeah. But there are players that did train this morning," Ten Hag told reporters during his pre-match press conference.
"Bruno was on the pitch and Scott McTominay was on the pitch, so there are some players returning. But also I have to report that unfortunately, yesterday, Mason Mount fell out [of contention]. So he will not be available for Sunday.
"Yesterday, Licha [Lisandro Martinez] came to me and wanted to play on Sunday against Arsenal but he's not ready yet, he needs a little bit more time to go through the process, but he is so desperate.
"Rashy, of course, he trained this morning as well, and we have to see how he recovered from this. But I think it looks quite good and I hope he can tomorrow make the next training and then see if he is available for Sunday."
Shaw suffers fitness setback
Ten Hag also said on Friday that Luke Shaw had suffered a setback in his recovery from a muscular problem, but the England international could still be available for the FA Cup final on May 25.
"Luke Shaw had a setback in his process as well but there is still a hope and he will fight to be available for the [FA Cup] final," the Dutchman added during his press conference.
Shaw has only made 15 appearances this season due to injury, with his latest problem keeping him out since the middle of February.
Man United could once again have Jonny Evans and Casemiro in the middle of their defence against Arsenal on Sunday, as Martinez is not yet ready to feature, while Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Willy Kambwala remain on the sidelines.
Rashford, if deemed fit, could play alongside Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund in the final third of the field, while Fernandes and Scott McTominay may be joined by Kobbie Mainoo in midfield. body check tags ::
