Manchester United are without Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Luke Shaw for Sunday's Manchester derby with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Edinson Cavani is also unavailable for the clash despite interim head coach Ralf Rangnick telling reporters during his pre-match press conference that the Uruguay international would be in the squad.

Varane's absence means that Harry Maguire returns alongside Victor Lindelof in the middle of the defence, while Alex Telles comes in for Shaw at left-back, with the pair missing through COVID-19.

Bruno Fernandes will seemingly operate as the false nine for the 20-time English champions, with Jadon Sancho and Anthony Elanga featuring in the wide positions.

Fred and Scott McTominay will hold the midfield, with Paul Pogba the advanced midfielder in a 4-4-3 formation.

Rangnick has also made a big call at right-back, selecting Aaron Wan-Bissaka ahead of Diogo Dalot, who has dropped back down the pecking order in recent weeks.
