Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Manchester United on Friday, August 14.

The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Manchester United eye possible reinforcements.

The Red Devils brought in Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo in the final days of the winter window but are still expected to be active in the summer as they aim to restore their former glories.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Old Trafford.

Friday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:

Manchester United 'to rival Chelsea for £80m Ben Chilwell'

Manchester United have reportedly joined Chelsea in the race to sign Leicester City full-back Ben Chilwell this summer.

The England international has been identified as one of Chelsea's top defensive targets for the ongoing window as they look to bolster a backline which shipped 54 goals in the Premier League last season.

The Blues have baulked at Leicester's £80m asking price, though, with the Foxes thought to value Chilwell as highly as Harry Maguire when he joined Man United in a world-record deal last year.

Chelsea's talks with Chilwell have slowed as a result, and The Mirror reports that United could look to jump ahead of their Premier League rivals in the race for his signature.

Leicester are hopeful of creating a bidding war for the 23-year-old with other Champions League clubs also thought to be interested, and Chelsea could therefore be forced to up their offer for the full-back.

Chilwell came through the ranks with Leicester and is contracted to the club until 2024, but he is thought to be hopeful of a move away from the King Power Stadium this summer.

Bayer Leverkusen chief: 'Kai Havertz can only leave under certain conditions'

Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller has suggested that Chelsea are yet to reach an agreement for the signing of Kai Havertz.

The Blues have long been regarded as the frontrunners for the playmaker, who is being tipped to move to a bigger club this summer.

However, as the Bundesliga side allegedly stick to a valuation of £90m, it appears that they are in little rush to cash in on their key man.

Speaking to Kicker, Voller said: "No decision has been made yet. I'd like to repeat myself by emphasising that we're talking about a wonderful footballer.

"There is nothing new in this regard. We have a clear and mutual agreement with him and his representatives that he can only leave under certain conditions. Otherwise he will stay."

Chelsea, or outsiders Manchester United, may only be prepared to meet Leverkusen's asking price if the fee can be paid in several instalments.
