Manchester United must now turn their attention to the summer transfer window having left their business until late in January.
The Red Devils brought in Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo in the final days of the winter window but are still expected to be active in the summer as they aim to restore their former glories.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Old Trafford.
Tuesday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:
Manchester United 'make take it or leave it £80m offer for Jadon Sancho'
Manchester United are not willing to pay Borussia Dortmund more than £80m for Jadon Sancho, according to a report.
The England international continues to be linked with a move to Old Trafford following a protracted transfer saga, but the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic will force clubs to reassess their transfer strategies ahead of the summer window.
Dortmund were believed to have slapped a £100m price tag on Sancho's head and were reluctant to lower their asking price, but United are reportedly set to table a take-it-or-leave-it offer for the highly-coveted forward.
According to the Daily Star, United executive vice chairman Ed Woodward is refusing to shell out more than £80m for Sancho, but the Red Devils chief is optimistic that Dortmund will accept the offer.
The report claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to have Sancho training with the United squad next month in order to prepare for the 2020-21 Premier League campaign, although the Red Devils will want to ensure Champions League qualification before they step up their pursuit.
Fellow English youngster Jude Bellingham was also heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, but the 17-year-old looks set to follow in Sancho's footsteps as his transfer to Dortmund from Birmingham City was confirmed on Monday.
Manchester United to shell out further £9m in Bruno Fernandes clauses?
Manchester United reportedly face the prospect of paying a further £9m to Sporting Lisbon for Bruno Fernandes in the next few weeks due to various add-ons.
The Red Devils snapped up the Portugal international for a cut-price £42m in the January window and he has already made a huge impact at Old Trafford.
However, Portuguese outlet A Bola claims that United may end up paying closer to £67m when certain clauses are triggered.
The first of those clauses supposedly requires United to pay Sporting £4.5m once Fernandes has made 20 appearances for the club, which he is two short of reaching.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will pay the same amount if they qualify for next season's Champions League, it is claimed, which they are also on course to achieve.
Speaking during football's three-month hiatus, Sporting president Frederico Varandas suggested Fernandes' valuation could have plummeted to as low as £18m due to the effects of covid-19.
