Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick has said that Alex Telles and Fred have both tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss Tuesday's Premier League clash with Burnley.
Telles was absent against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup on Friday night, while Fred was only a substitute in the fourth-round contest with the Championship outfit.
Rangnick has revealed that the two Brazilians will not be able to face the Clarets at Turf Moor, with Fred also likely to be absent against Southampton at the weekend.
"Yeah we have two players missing," Rangnick told MUTV. "Alex Telles already missed the cup game because he tested COVID positive last week and, unfortunately, the same thing happened today with Fred.
"That's why he will be missing from tomorrow's game and possibly even the game against Southampton."
As a result, Luke Shaw and Paul Pogba could keep their positions in the starting XI, with the 20-time English champions bidding to make it three Premier League victories in a row.
