Juventus manager Massimo Allegri has insisted that Arturo Vidal was never going to be sold by the club, despite reported interest from Manchester United.
The Red Devils were heavily linked with the Chile international over the course of the summer, with some reports in Italy claiming that a deal had been agreed.
However, a transfer failed to materialise and now Allegri is insisting that Vidal was always going to be part of his plans in Serie A this season after he replaced Antonio Conte as manager in July.
"Vidal? He's never been for sale," The Express quotes Allegri as saying. "The management told me from the beginning that he would stay."
The 27-year-old moved to Turin from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011.
