Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Anderson will remain on the sidelines until after Christmas with a hamstring injury.
The Brazilian midfielder, 24, has not featured for the Red Devils since limping off at half time during last weekend's 4-3 win at Reading.
"It is a hamstring," said Ferguson. "It will be three or four weeks. It is not serious but it is a hamstring."
Anderson has made nine Premier League appearances this season, scoring two goals.
