Manchester United captain Michael Carrick has sung the praises of new signing Nemanja Matic.
The Serbian midfielder, who is available to play in tomorrow's UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid, joined the Red Devils from Chelsea last week.
Matic made his first appearance for United in last Wednesday's 2-1 friendly win over Sampdoria, and Carrick believes that the 29-year-old could play a pivotal role in bringing success to Old Trafford.
"He's a terrific player, a great signing for us, who knows what it takes to win," Carrick told reporters. "He had a massive part to play at Chelsea and what's important is he knows the league, the English way, how tough it is, how the season is, so he'll adapt quickly at United and I hope he'll have a big part to play for years to come."
Across two spells at Chelsea, Matic won the Premier League twice, as well as the FA Cup and League Cup.
