Michael Carrick is positive that Ander Herrera will add quality to the Manchester United midfield this season.
The 24-year-old Spaniard joined the Red Devils from Athletic Bilbao last month in a deal worth around £29m, and Carrick is looking forward to playing alongside him having already examined his abilities as an opponent.
"I have played against him and he is a terrific player," Carrick told Sky Sports News.
"The more quality we have, the better, and he is certainly right up there. So I am sure he is looking forward to getting started and getting the first game under his belt and fitting in. We will certainly make him feel as welcome as we can."
Herrera scored seven goals in 94 La Liga games for Bilbao after signing from Real Zaragoza in 2011.
