Casemiro has admitted that he has been surprised by the Manchester United supporters since his arrival.

The 30-year-old made the move to Old Trafford late in the summer transfer window, with the midfielder arriving in Manchester following a hugely successful period at Real Madrid.

Casemiro was initially used off the bench in the early stages of his Man United career, but he has been a key player in recent weeks, making 18 appearances in all competitions, contributing one goal and one assist in the process.

The Brazil international sparked jubilant scenes in the away end at Stamford Bridge when he found the back of the net against Chelsea in the Premier League on October 22, with his late header levelling the scores.

The midfielder has said that the "passion" of the Man United fans, and the depth of their support, is something that 'he has never seen before'.

"Both places (Real Madrid and Man United) have their good points, of course. But one of the things that has surprised me the most over here has been the supporters. The passion that they have for the game and how they really live for their football," Casemiro told Man United's official website.

"When the weekend comes around, how the fans just live off their football. How the fans just exude football, and you can see that football is their passion and that football is their life.

"So it's not just here at Old Trafford for the home games, but away from home too, wow, the fans are just incredible. The supporters, the atmosphere, the way the fans get behind us, just fantastic, and one of the things that has surprised me the most since coming to England.

"But you cannot want for anything more from our fans, and what's more, you have to thank them for the way they support us and I have never seen anything like that before."

Casemiro is currently representing Brazil at the 2022 World Cup, with the tournament favourites winning both matches at the tournament against Serbia and Switzerland to qualify for the round of 16.

The midfielder hit the winner against Switzerland last time out to leave the South American nation at the top of Group G ahead of their final game with Cameroon.

Brazil would secure first position in the section if they draw or win against Cameroon on Friday night.

Man United, meanwhile, will take on Cadiz and Real Betis in two mid-season friendlies on December 7 and December 10 respectively, before returning to competitive action against Burnley in the EFL Cup on December 21.

Erik ten Hag's side next Premier League match will be against Nottingham Forest on December 27. body check tags ::
