Hansi Flick has reportedly 'expressed an interest' in becoming Manchester United's next head coach amid the ongoing speculation surrounding Erik ten Hag's future at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag is being tipped to lose his job this summer due to the team's struggles this season.

The Dutchman is bidding to lead Man United to more domestic silverware this term, with Manchester City their opponents in the FA Cup final on May 25, but the 20-time English champions are down in eighth position in the Premier League table.

Ten Hag insisted on Friday that he is not concerned by the speculation surrounding his future, with the Dutchman confident that he will remain in charge heading into next season.

However, Man United's new minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe is believed to be considering making a change this summer, with Thomas Tuchel regarded as the favourite.

Flick 'is keen on Man United job'

Tuchel is leaving Bayern Munich this summer, and the German is thought to be interested in returning to the Premier League, while Man United are said to be keen on him.

England head coach Gareth Southgate and former Chelsea boss Graham Potter are also seemingly in the frame, should a change be made at the end of the campaign.

According to talkSPORT, Flick has 'expressed an interest' in becoming Man United's new head coach, but he is also being heavily linked with the role at Bayern.

The 59-year-old was previously in charge of Bayern between 2019 and 2021, famously winning the treble during the 2019-20 campaign, including the Champions League title.

Man United 'continue to weigh up their options'

Flick incredibly won 70 of his 86 games in charge of the Munich giants before leaving in June 2021, and he was then confirmed as Germany's next manager in July of the same year.

The German managed his country between July 2021 and September 2023, boasting a record of 12 wins, seven draws and six defeats, but the national side were eliminated in the group stage of the 2022 World Cup.

Man United are not expected to make a change in the dug-out before the end of the season, with Ten Hag set to be given the chance to win the FA Cup later this month.

However, should the team miss out on European qualification altogether in the Premier League, and then fail to win the FA Cup, it is believed that a change could be made.

The 20-time English champions will be bidding to bounce back from their 4-0 defeat at Crystal Palace when they welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford in the league on Sunday afternoon. body check tags ::
