Former Wigan Athletic defender Arjan de Zeeuw believes that Memphis Depay will be a successful signing for Manchester United, despite having an "arrogant" reputation.
The 21-year-old, who was also reportedly wanted by Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool, has agreed a deal to move to Old Trafford in the summer, subject to a medical.
The winger, who has played under United manager Louis van Gaal at international level with the Netherlands, has scored 21 goals in 28 games for PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie this season.
"It's a massive step, but I think he'll do well," De Zeeuw told BBC World Service. "People regard him as a little bit arrogant, a little bit cocky, but I think he is a very good player, a very promising player, a very strong very, quick player and he's got some skill.
"Just because he's full of confidence, doesn't mean he's cocky - people expect him to be the best player on the pitch every week, so you have to have a bit of self-belief to achieve that."
The deal is expected to cost United in the region of £22m.
