Radamel Falcao has revealed that Ruud van Nistelrooy was one of his favourite former Manchester United players.
The Colombian frontman scored the equaliser in United's 1-1 draw at Aston Villa on Saturday, which was his second goal for the club since joining from Monaco on loan.
Falcao hopes that he can follow in the footsteps of Van Nistelrooy by finding the net on a more regular basis.
"You know I always admired Ruud van Nistelrooy in my position," Falcao told The Mirror. "He was a star attraction for me.
"Above and beyond him, I liked Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes for their style of play. It is much admired by players from all over the world.
"David Beckham, of course. I couldn't fail to mention him as he has opened up routes between continents as a footballer. They are legends who press all the right buttons. Eric Cantona as well, he was a very exciting and entertaining player to watch."
United reportedly have £43.5m deal in place to sign Falcao permanently next summer if he proves his fitness.
