Rio Ferdinand has admitted that he will feel 'emotional' when returning to Manchester United as a Queens Park Rangers player this Sunday.
The centre-back spent 12 years at Old Trafford before leaving in the summer for Loftus Road on a free transfer.
When asked on the BBC's Football Focus show how he would feel returning to the home of his former club, Ferdinand said: "Emotional, really. I had great years there, I had some really good times three.
"I never got to say bye when I left, which was unfortunate, so it will be a nice opportunity to say bye to the people who supported me and helped get the achievements that I've been able to get my hands on."
QPR have won one Premier League game so far this season, while United are yet to earn a competitive victory under manager Louis van Gaal.
