Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has been left impressed by what he has seen from Nick Powell.
The 18-year-old completed his switch to the Red Devils from League Two side Crewe Alexandra earlier this month.
Despite his inexperience at the top level, Ferdinand feels that his new teammate has shown plenty of potential over the past 12 months and during recent training sessions.
"He's a fine prospect. I've seen a few clips of him and watched a few games back home," Ferdinand told The Sun.
"He has an unpredictable style and can play off the cuff. He can pull things out the hat that you don't expect.
"We've not really seen as much as we would have liked in training as we're just doing a lot of small sided work at the moment, but he has a great first touch and he's not afraid."
Both players are currently part of the United squad that is touring South Africa and China.
