Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has hit out at online comments linking him to a previous arrest.
The 24-year-old was linked online to an incident involving the arrest of a Premier League footballer in 2019 but was quick to label these as "Totally false news."
Henderson took to social media, saying: "Can't believe I'm having to do this but I'd just like to address the rumours that have come to light in the last couple of days," as quoted by BBC Sport.
"There are some sad people in the world that have attached my name to such inappropriate, hurtful and totally false news stories.
"I have a family who have been affected by this so wanted to put the rumours to bed and move on."
Such rumours follow the arrest of Red Devils attacker Mason Greenwood early in 2022, with the 20-year-old under investigation for alleged rape, assault, sexual assault and death threats.
