Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly emerged as a potential managerial target for Inter Milan.
Mourinho is currently approaching the midway point of his third campaign at Old Trafford, but the Portuguese's role is not safe with United sitting 11 point adrift of a place in the top four of the Premier League standings.
The United hierarchy may opt against parting ways with Mourinho during the current season, but according to The Express, the 55-year-old may be offered an alternative to life at the North-West giants.
Inter would allegedly be prepared to offer Mourinho a chance of a return to San Siro should they decide against extending the contract of Luciano Spalletti.
The club sit in third spot in the Serie A table, but Spalletti is unlikely to lead a title challenge with 14 points separating Inter and leaders Juventus.
Mourinho spent a successful spell at Inter between 2008 and 2010, with two league crowns and the Champions League being won during his time in Italy.
