Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho has said that he is looking forward to starting again "fresh" at the club next season.
The 22-year-old joined the Red Devils in a big-money move from Borussia Dortmund last summer, and he has been a regular this term, making 38 appearances in all competitions.
Sancho has found it difficult to show his best form for the 20-time English champions, though, managing only five goals and three assists for the club.
The England international has missed his side's last three Premier League matches against Chelsea, Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion through tonsillitis.
However, he is believed to be in with a chance of making his return in Man United's final league game of the campaign at Crystal Palace next weekend.
Sancho has admitted that 2021-22 has been "a difficult" campaign for the club, who are two points clear of seventh-placed West Ham United in the Premier League table ahead of the final set of fixtures.
The former Manchester City youngster is now looking forward to 'a fresh start' under the management of Erik ten Hag, who will soon replace interim head coach Ralf Rangnick at the helm.
"To start again fresh, with a new manager coming in, we're looking forward to seeing what his ideas and plans for the team are," Sancho told Premier League Productions.
"You only have to think positively. My career is only getting started and, hopefully, it will take off soon. This has been a difficult season, especially being a Manchester United player, with what the club has achieved over the years.
"United is known for winning trophies and being up there with the best. This season has been a difficult one for all of us, but I think we still have to show belief again."
Sancho has scored three goals and registered three assists in 29 Premier League appearances this season, while he netted once in seven outings in the Champions League.
The Englishman was signed with the view to playing as a right-sided attacker, but he has largely played off the left this term due to the struggles of Marcus Rashford.
Ten Hag could allegedly be in the stands for Man United's clash with Palace next weekend, as the Dutchman is keen to watch the players in the flesh ahead of officially taking charge of the team.
The incoming head coach is believed to have identified Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante as the ideal signing this summer, while Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong and Benfica's Darwin Nunez are among those to be heavily linked with the club in recent weeks. body check tags ::
