Anders Lindegaard: 'Senior players guiding Manchester United'

Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard says that the club's experienced players have a key role to play over the coming weeks.

Goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has revealed that the younger players in the Manchester United squad will look towards their senior teammates for guidance between now and the end of the season.

With nine matches left to play, the Red Devils are 15 points clear at the top of the Premier League table, while they also remain in the FA Cup.

As the campaign enters a critical stage, Danish international Lindegaard has conceded that the experienced players will have a crucial role to play.

"Of course, it's a good position to be in but it's something we cannot think about. I think you can feel it in the team now, especially with the more experienced players, that we're entering the late stage of the season when all the medals are going to be given out," he told MUTV.

"From Rio, Giggsy, Scholes and Vida, you can really feel it with the players who have done it before and see how determined they are and how important it is to them.

"The younger and less experienced players try to look to them leading us in the right direction, reminding us every day to stay sharp, not to relax and to keep going."

Next up for United is a trip to Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.
