Manchester United striker Fedrico Macheda will be "free to leave" the Premier League champions at the end of the season, according to the forward's agent.
The 21-year-old Italian burst onto the scene at Manchester United in 2009 when he scored a 93rd-minute winner against Aston Villa to effectively seal the title for the Red Devils.
However, since his remarkable debut, Macheda has struggled for first-team opportunities at Old Trafford and spent six months on loan at German side Stuttgart last season.
The Daily Star quotes Macheda's agent, Giovanni Bia, as saying to an Italian website that the forward will leave Manchester next summer.
"Unfortunately, there is no news [about a new contract]," said Bia.
"The assessment that Manchester [United] have made is not one in line with a player whose contract is coming to an end.
"This year he will play in Manchester, seeing out his contract with the Red Devils and then he will be free to leave."
Macheda has scored four goals in 19 appearances for the Red Devils.
