Harry Maguire will be reportedly named as Manchester United's new permanent captain ahead of Ashley Young's impending move to Inter Milan.
Young, who took over from Antonio Valencia as the club's permanent skipper last summer, has been heavily linked with a January transfer to the Serie A side.
Maguire, despite only joining United over the summer, has been praised for his leadership on the field, wearing the armband on a few occasions.
According to the Daily Mail, the Englishman will be handed the captaincy on a permanent basis once Young leaves the club.
Signed for a record £80m over the summer, United landed the player with the view that he could develop into a leader at the back over several years.
