Manchester United are reportedly planning to speak to Ernesto Valverde, Ralf Rangnick, Lucien Favre, Rudi Garcia and Paulo Fonseca over the interim managerial role at Old Trafford.
Michael Carrick is currently in charge of the Red Devils following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's dismissal as head coach, and the former midfielder led the team to a 2-0 win over Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Paris Saint-Germain's Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly the club's number one choice to replace Solskjaer on a long-term basis, but he might not be available until next summer.
As a result, Man United are looking to appoint an interim manager for the rest of the 2021-22 campaign, and according to the Daily Mail, former Barcelona boss Valverde is on the list with ex-RB Leipzig manager Rangnick.
Favre, who recently managed Borussia Dortmund, and Garcia, who led Lyon to the semi-finals of the 2019-20 Champions League, are also said to be in the running.
Meanwhile, Fonseca, formerly of Roma, will allegedly speak to the 20-time English champions over the role, having recently missed out on the Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United jobs.
Carrick is currently preparing the team for Sunday's Premier League clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. body check tags ::
