Manchester United are reportedly preparing to open discussions with Erik ten Hag over a new contract.
The Dutchman arrived at Old Trafford in the summer of 2022 off the back of a successful spell at Ajax, and he has a deal with the 20-time English champions until June 2025, with the option of a further 12 months.
However, according to 90min, the club are planning to open talks over a new deal, with Ten Hag still in a strong position at Old Trafford despite the team's struggles this season.
There have been suggestions that the 53-year-old's position is under threat due to a lacklustre start to 2023-24, but he is allegedly still viewed as ideal the head coach to continue leading the club forward.
Ten Hag's representatives have allegedly already been contacted by club chiefs to signal a desire to enter into talks over an extension to his deal.
The Dutchman has taken charge of 70 matches for the Red Devils, boasting a record of 45 wins, nine draws and 16 defeats.
Ten Hag led Man United to the EFL Cup trophy last season, in addition to securing third position in the Premier League to return to the Champions League for this term.
The Red Devils lost four of their opening six matches of the 2023-24 campaign, but they have now won their last two against Burnley and Crystal Palace.
Bruno Fernandes's excellent volley secured all three points against Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday, before the club beat Palace 3-0 in the EFL Cup on Tuesday to advance to the fourth round.
Man United's next three games are also at home, welcoming Palace and Brentford in the Premier League either side of a Champions League contest with Galatasaray.
Ten Hag is still said to be fully backed by Red Devils chief executive Richard Arnold and director of football John Murtough.
The Dutchman's position would also allegedly not be in doubt if a takeover occurs, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani both said to be competing to buy the club from the Glazers.
Sheikh Jassim is believed to be planning to make a new offer, while Ratcliffe is said to be preparing to restructure his bid in hope of finally making a breakthrough.
Ten Hag remains in a stand-off with Jadon Sancho, and it is understood that the head coach will refuse to back down, meaning that the uncomfortable situation could continue until the attacker potentially leaves in January, body check tags ::
