Manchester United have allegedly suffered a blow in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez, with the La Liga outfit demanding £135m for the midfielder.
Amid widespread speculation regarding a potential exit for Paul Pogba at Old Trafford, Saul has been strongly linked with a switch to the Premier League.
However, the coronavirus pandemic has led to serious financial implications for clubs across the globe, but Atletico are reportedly not budging on their price for the 25-year-old.
According to Marca, United are only willing to go as high as £70m in their pursuit of Saul, but Atletico are standing firm on the midfielder's £135m release clause.
Furthermore, Saul's current deal at the Wanda Metropolitano will not run out until 2026, meaning that Diego Simeone's side are under no pressure to offload the Spain international anytime soon.
Saul has registered three goals in 26 La Liga appearances during the 2019-20 campaign.
