Former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen has described Jesse Lingard as the 'English Andres Iniesta'.
The 22-year-old has forced his way into Louis van Gaal's team this season, starting five of the eight games.
The England Under-21 international also scored his first senior goal for the Red Devils in their 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion earlier this month.
"I see him as the English version of Iniesta," Meulensteen told United Review. "He has still got a long way to go but that is the sort of player I see in him."
Lingard joined United's academy in 2000.
