Jose Mourinho has suggested that Andreas Pereira 'has to do more' if he is to justify regular selection in Manchester United's first team.
The 22-year-old is expected to remain at Old Trafford and fight for a place in the side this coming season following back-to-back campaigns out on loan in La Liga.
Pereira played the full 90 minutes of United's 1-1 draw with Club America last week and a further 83 minutes in the San Jose Earthquakes stalemate on Sunday, giving Mourinho a chance to assess the Brazilian midfielder up close.
Speaking after the second of the Red Devils' summer friendlies, the Portuguese told MUTV: "Andreas is playing okay. In the first match, he was okay and today too.
"I think he has to play even more simply than what he's doing but he has the personality to want the ball and to organise. I'm happy."
Pereira revealed before jetting off to the United States that Mourinho has vowed to give him a run in the side this summer.
